 Approximately 60% of MDF components are imported, but it is higher in high gloss MDF. That means the locally produced high gloss boards are in fact composed of imported MDF materials and cover sheets, which are merely glued in Iran.  However, the surface of the high gloss boards produced in Iran is not as uniform and smooth as that of the imported boards and feels grainy and rough to the touch.

Another flaw is the color of the Iranian boards fade away when exposed to sunlight. However, this is the problem only with certain brands. When the boards need to be curved as the design and the customer’s order require, boards from certain Iranian manufacturers are deformed, decolored, or stained. Thus, it is recommended to avoid Iranian-made boards for such designs.

Altogether, if these three factors are involved, do not use Iranian high gloss boards.

If you look for a lump-free finished work, and you have a simple design;

If your kitchen is sunlit and cabinets are exposed to the sunlight;

If there are curves in the top parts of the designed cabinets.

PVC cabinets are moisture resistant. However, if the cabinets are made and assembled masterfully using high quality glues and excellent methods, any type of cabinet can be good for you.

The cost depends on the design you choose, and the amount of board used. Viewing of the space is recommended for measurements and calculations.

HPL boards are wood products with various coatings including PVC, AGE, AGT, etc. They feature a wide variety, but not all of them are heat and water resistant.

Corian is made of artificial materials like resin.  It comes in a very wide variety of patterns and colors, and is much more expensive and durable than HPL.

Which one is more costly, HPL or Corian?

The answer to this question is simple. Corian is more expensive than HPL. The work can cost 2-3 times more than HPL. AND of course there is a reason why!

Variety of Corian and HPL boards:

Both materials come in a span of colors and patterns, so there isn’t much to worry about in this regard.
